Gunfire exchanged near Blackhawk Park

Officers received several calls about gunfire near Blackhawk Park, around Lavergne Avenue and Belden Avenue. Callers reported hearing about seven to eight shots and vehicles speeding away. A dark Jeep with pink lettering on the rear window was seen driving fast near the park. Witnesses said occupants of the Jeep were firing shots, possibly toward another parked vehicle. The person who fired from the parked vehicle then got into a dark sedan and drove south on Lavergne. Officers found at least one spent shell casing near the southeast corner of the park and reported no injury victims at the scene. The involved vehicles left the area before police arrived.
