Fire and medical crews responded to reports of smoke in a lower unit of a two-story apartment complex near North Leverett Avenue in Fayetteville. An employee on site reported gray, toxic-smelling smoke entering an apartment that housed three residents and a dog, with no flames initially seen and it unknown if anyone was inside. On arrival, responders observed light smoke from the lower apartment and began fire attack, search, and ventilation operations while checking nearby units and the presence of a child. The fire was later confirmed to be confined to a bedroom in the affected apartment and was extinguished, with crews conducting overhaul to ensure it was fully out.
