Police pursue suspected stolen SUVs from apartments

Police were sent to the Century Apartments near Vine Street for a report of four sport utility vehicles doing donuts in the parking lot. The caller believed the vehicles might be stolen. When officers arrived, several people ran from the vehicles and fled on foot. Three vehicles were left abandoned at the apartment complex, and one gray sport utility vehicle continued north, with about six or seven people inside. Officers followed it along local roads at high speed toward a grocery store area. The occupants later turned into a church parking lot, left the vehicle, and ran in different directions toward nearby streets and businesses. Officers searched the area around South Bay, an apartment complex, and nearby businesses. Multiple people were found and taken into custody.
