Medic One transports elderly male after fall and infection

Medic One is transporting a 65-year-old man to UCSD after he fell from bed overnight and was unable to get up due to weakness and mild back pain. He was found covered in insects such as bed bugs and cockroaches in his apartment. The patient has signs of early sepsis and cellulitis on his left elbow but denies loss of consciousness or trauma. Vital signs show a mild fever and normal breathing and heart rate with a history of COPD. He is being treated with sepsis precautions and IV access will be established before arrival.
