Fire alarm prompts evacuation at apartment complex

As discussed during the dispatch call, fire crews responded to a fire alarm at a multi-story apartment building near South Chauncey Street in West Lafayette. The building was evacuated as a precaution while Battalion 15 established command. Investigation determined the cause was likely burnt food on an upper floor. Another unit was simultaneously dispatched to a separate fire alarm on Ravenwood Lane. No hazards or injuries were reported, and all units later returned to service.
