Firefighters contain large debris fire near Midvale Rd

As discussed during the dispatch call, firefighters responded to a large debris fire referred to as Valley Fire 521 near Midvale Road in Yakima. Crews reported a 50-by-100-foot pile of garbage on fire that was being hosed by nearby farm workers. A command post named Midvale Command was established to coordinate the response. No injuries were reported, and the situation appeared to be under control after efforts to gain access to the burning area.
